Dusk at Cubist Castle
(I care because you don’t). Categorical strangeness. Reimporting my MP3s into iTunes after accepting the reality of no hard drive space in the laptop, it somehow decided that “Take Care” was not by Big Star but by the Olivia Tremor Control. It’s put the idea in my head that they could do an awesome cover version with added blips, but I guess Yo La Tengo beat them to it (if they’re even still a band, which they’re probably not - what is it with awesome Elephant 6 bands and their complete inability to release anything? Although I do notice the words “coming soon” next to Jeff Mangum’s name on there). And I forgot to say how great the Lips’ cover of “Seven Nation Army” sung through a megaphone was. It was this great. (I did a thing with my hands, but you probably didn’t see it.)
