big city bust ups

so apparently as the heat descends upon the city, tempers flare and the new york city face i fell in love with will disappear. yesterday four people were stabbed on the train i catch, traffic accidents seem to be more prolific and last night in the final thirty seconds of the last song in the second encore of a fairly stupendous radiohead gig, my friends and i were unceremoniously ejected from madison square garden - rendering the access all areas pass that was plastered to my knee, good for sweet fucking nothing.

now the stabbings were crazy, totally random acts of horrible violence though fortunately none were fatal, just painful and terrifying, the nypd are lining the subways stations and have apprehended the dude - at a macdonalds, perhaps there is someting there to be thankful for afterall...

but the dickhead bouncers interested in mob violence and frustrated by the lack of controversial action proffered by extremely mellow and genial crowd going goo-goo for thom yorke and his boys.. where do you even start? too too cross for words...

and too sleep starved, its too weird actually - nice gig though, all things considered. it took them a while to warm up. the staging was beautiful and they really played tight.. tirelessly. i do love the big gigs. i am spoilt.

more later when i smell less of coffee and bad kitchen grill.

classical and a caffeine full

working backwards through the morning, a minute or so of grabbed
time before i start moving forward, to the train and the upper west side.
the daily pilgrimage to super hero heaven... a moment on the million
dollar couch, baby downstairs, parents at art show, tread mill is being
installed, the violin frentic in the background. blearly eyed to the train,
repeat squats and half twist lunges, weird shower scenes and a bar of
german chocolate. patirck is back from his beautiful european city, he
has left the woman he loves, he is feeding us chocolate because he won't
eat it himself. its dark and rich... the cafe is light and full, the soy milk
today is vanilla and too sweet, like most things in this town.. but not the
chocolate, the bitter square dissolves on my tongue and i feel, at once,
completely satisfied.

chocolate in the morning rocks my world.
