The Moor's Last Sigh (Vintage International)

i love it how books come to you when they are ready, or when you are ready (perhaps they always are and there they sit waiting paitently for your time) anyway - the time is now, and i find myself rushing through like the moor himself.. rejoicing in the decadence of days, the headiness and arrogance of language.

brooklyn follies

its probably a bit cheeky to snatch so blatantly from mr auster, but the show going on beneath me is so folly full - the rolls of chiffon, the beads, the entourage, the fashion diva in her tufty toque and leggings, a tired mum who would rather be back at work - the dress itself an egg yolk extravaganza just like an extravagant picturesque building that is erected to suit a fanciful taste - a folly constructed in front of our very eyes. a boerum hill folly. an industry folly.
