dad's place

dad's place

He doesn't want her anymore.
He's got a renovated old house now.

It's filled with what he's let himself call his own,
records
books
photographs,
and furniture belonging to his overseas son.

There's hairs in the shower recess now.
There's dirty dishes in the sink.
There's a new history in these walls.
There's more of him than you think.

And when his son comes to town
he doesn't take him to Chooks.
